Janitor's closet singles

Apparently someone finally noticed that some of the closets in Hunt
("New Dorm") that were turned into singles (around 2000, I think) are
too small for human habitation:

I remember being astonished that they were having people live in rooms
that small. Students' mattresses were wall-to-wall.

I love this: "Lauren Everhart, director of communications at Science
and Math, said she wasn't sure why the three students were placed in
the rooms, which have been there since the residence hall was built in
1987." Perhaps because someone tried to expand enrollment at the
school by trying to find new dorm rooms in existing (inappropriate)
spaces?
