NCSSM wants to join UNC system

Since nobody has mentioned it yet:

"Trustees of the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics voted
unanimously Friday to seek legislation that would make the West Club
Boulevard school the 17th campus of the UNC system starting on July 1,
2007."

Also, there's a conflict between the school and some neighbors over
the school's desire to build a soccer field and track with lights.  It
looks like the school's going to start building the field using some
money from the NCSSM Foundation, with a possible concession regarding
the lights.
