I believe "The Figure" resonates for people class of '94 or later.
I'm not certain when the piece was installed. Having the second side
display the cupola image is a good move; someone reported that the
Alumni/Development office is trying to push that as their official
logo.
Thanks to Chris for putting these together. They look great!
My opinion on pricing would be for $26 each. Let people know that $20
of the price is contribution to student programs. For a little over a
hundred dollars, I could get four and give some to my parents. At
the higher price, they'd remind me not only of my fond memories of the
school, but also of my contribution helping current students.
Having been around non-profit fundraising, I'm inclined towards having
the fundraiser's ask to a donor to focus on the programs the beyond
cost portion of the donation will support. The key chain is a
thank-you, but the main reason for giving should be the programs it
will support. It should be an effective combination because people do
like to have something they can hold. The item you've presented is
beautiful and compelling for alumni. (I would love to have such a
pretty item to give in return for contributions to EqualityNC.org )
As an alternative, if folks weigh in heavily for a lower price, give
an explicit way for someone to donate beyond the list price (more than
the cost and base contribution) for even more proceeds.
Or another alternative, give these key chains to folks who sign up to
be monthly sustainers (at $10/month on credit card) or something like
this. Could be quarterly, too.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
