topics

there were classes with topics back in the stone ages, though i didn't take  
any.  my high scool was sooo behind anything that i didn't know enough to  
take the topics classes.  
 
also, i had never heard of ap exams, didn't have any idea what they were,  
might could have passed one but didn't try because i had *no clue* about  them.
 
i wish there had been a 'seminar for the clueless' about such things while  i 
was at s&m.
