My apologies for any vagueries:  the "family" that I spoke of was the =
alumni "aunts and uncles."  And they would not go unread, but =
unanswered.  Letters from family proper are greeted with enthusiasm.  =
With any luck, they'll contain a check ;-)

about the bit about things marked 'family' going unread.  i know deanne =

letter from my daddy to give a momentary distraction.  so fine line, =
yes, but not impossible.
